Our Story

"Made for More wasn't born from a business plan. It was born from seeing people we loved struggle and asking, 'What can we do to help?'"

"Made for More wasn't born from a business plan. It was born from seeing people we loved struggle and asking, 'What can we do to help?'"

Made for More began over coffee during weekly conversations between two friends.

As we talked about faith, purpose, and the needs we saw around us, one question kept coming up -

How could we make a meaningful impact in the lives of women and children in our community?

We had ideas. We had passion. We had a heart for serving others.

What we didn't have was a way to turn those ideas into something sustainable.

During the winter of 2024-2025, that question stayed with me.

While spending time in Florida, I found myself reflecting on the people I love and the challenges they were facing. I watched my grandson continue to navigate the grief of losing his father. I thought about some of the strongest women I know as they worked through difficult life transitions. I reflected on my own journey as a young single mother and the people who helped me along the way.

The more I reflected, the more one thing became clear - there were needs all around us, and there were people who simply needed someone to believe in them, support them, and help them take the next step forward.

That's when the idea for the Made for More Resale Boutique was born.

Not as the mission itself, but as a way to fund the mission.

The boutique would create a sustainable source of support for programs, scholarships, mentorship opportunities, and community initiatives designed to help women, children, and families navigate life's challenges and discover new possibilities.

What started as a conversation between friends has grown into a community of volunteers, donors, shoppers, mentors, and advocates who believe that every person deserves hope, opportunity, and encouragement.

Because we believe people are made for more than their circumstances.

Our Mission

Our Mission

Made for More exists to create opportunities, foster hope, and strengthen our community by supporting women, children, and families through life's transitions.

We believe that every person has value, every story matters, and every new chapter deserves encouragement.

Through mentorship, scholarships, community partnerships, and practical support, we help people move forward with confidence, dignity, and purpose.

Where Hope Meets Action

Made for More isn't a single program or event.

It's a collection of initiatives designed to meet people where they are and help them move toward where they want to be.

Her Horizons

Helping Women Move Forward

Her Horizons supports women who are navigating life transitions, pursuing new goals, rebuilding confidence, or seeking a fresh start.

Through mentorship, encouragement, practical resources, and community connections, we help women take meaningful steps

toward the future they envision for themselves.

The Lantern Project

 Helping Children Navigate Grief

The Lantern Project supports children who have

experienced the loss of a parent.

Grief can feel overwhelming, especially for young hearts. Through connection, resources, remembrance activities, and community support, we help

children and families know they don't have to walk that journey alone.

The Next Chapter scholarship

Investing in New Beginnings

The Next Chapter Scholarship recognizes women who are pursuing education, career advancement, certification programs,

or personal growth after overcoming challenges.

We believe courage deserves support and that investing in one woman often creates a ripple effect that impacts an entire family.

"When I hear "made for more", it means I don't have to stay stuck in the version of myself shaped by fear, failure, or my past. It means I am more than the mistakes I've made, more than the lies my mind tells me about being unworthy of growth, and more than the limitations I've placed on myself.

This season is teaching me that growth is possible, healing is real, and my story is not finished yet. Being made for more means choosing to believe that I was created with purpose, strength, and value — even on the days I struggle to see it myself. It means stepping forward with faith instead of staying trapped in who I used to be."

- Brittany Gingerich, 2026 Next Chapter Scholarship Recipient

Volunteer

When people ask what makes Made for More possible, the answer is simple: our volunteers.

They sort donations, organize displays, assist customers, support events, encourage participants, and quietly step in wherever help is needed. Many of them began as shoppers, supporters, or community members who simply wanted to make a difference. What they discovered was something bigger—a chance to be part of changing lives.

Every hour given, every task completed, and every act of service helps create opportunities for someone else's next chapter. Their generosity reminds us that meaningful impact doesn't always come from grand gestures. Often, it starts with ordinary people choosing to show up, lend a hand, and care for their community.

"The heart of Made for More isn't found in a building or a program. It's found in the people who give their time, talents, and compassion to help others move forward." ❤️

Family Impact

Like many children navigating grief, my grandson experienced moments of sadness, confusion, anger, and questions that didn't always have easy answers. While no program can take away the pain of such a loss, The Lantern Project was created to help children and families find healthy ways to carry that grief and keep moving forward.

Through the grief support box provided by The Lantern Project, Liam was given tools designed specifically for children—activities that encouraged him to express his feelings, remember his dad, and understand that what he was experiencing was normal. Some days the tools sparked conversations. Other days they provided quiet moments of reflection. Over time, they became small lights during some very dark days.

His journey with grief is still unfolding, and it always will be in some ways. But watching him learn to talk about his feelings, honor his father's memory, and continue growing has reinforced why The Lantern Project exists.

Because every child deserves support, understanding, and hope as they navigate life's hardest chapters—and no family should have to walk that path alone.
